Sometimes it feels like yesterday that the Lanolips range launched; I remember trying their first original lanolin balm, then the coloured products then other items in the range. The brand seems to have remained true to it’s roots, and I like how the products remain quite simple and natural.
The Lanolips Lovely Lanolin Golden Ointment (50g) is a super rich dense balm that is a multi use product. It contains Lanolin, Manuka Honey and Vitamin E. There are other ingredients in there, but it’s a clean list. It is for very dry and rough skin and can be used on all the obvious areas – cuticles, skin, lips.
Now this ointment is very very very thick. It is like tar. It’s sticky. It’s really dense. When it goes cold it is far too hard to squeeze out so you need to warm it up, like I did at our day out at the zoo, under my arm pit so I could apply it on the kids.
The thickness and concentration of this balm means it will last because there’s no way you will be slathering over yourself – you can’t slather something with this kind of super thick texture.
I have been using this on my lips and the kids faces. The children have had hideously dry skin recently and I like my babies with their sweet soft juicy cheeks so I have been using this (it leaves them looking greasy for a while) but it is EFFECTIVE. Yes it is heavy but it really really really protects from the wind chill.
I am currently carrying this in the handbag mainly for the kids sake. It always works on top of a moisturising serum too, to seal things in. I carry the smaller Lanolips balm too and this large ointment is more economical.
