, by Gerrard International is fast becoming a brand I’m really enjoying using – the products are effective, the prices are not outrageous and there’s some interesting pics in there. I recently tried a few items (soon to be released) including the Power Matte Lip Creme (4 shades, £18 each) and the Glitter Glam Liner (one shade, Supernova 01, £12). As you can guess, these Atumun products are perfect for the season, colour and formula wise.
First off, the Power Matte Lip Creme is something a bit different from Mii as it’s a liquid lipstick. This matte lipstick contains sweet almost and jojoba oil, and it has a light texture and a (yummy) vanilla scent. There are 4 shades, Eternity 01 (Nude) – pictured above, Imperial 02 (Red), Sensuous 03 (Fuchsia Pink) and Supreme 04 (Mulberry) – pictured above. This is how I tend to choose lip shades, an everyday colour and something bold.
The liquid lipsticks come in sturdy plastic containers and a are highly pigmented. I like the sponge applicator which is very soft and has some bend to it so you can really push it on to your lips and follow the curves (sounds like a strange thing but I was testing some other lipsticks at the same time and noted how the other brand’s applicators were pants).
The texture although pigmented is indeed light to feel – sometimes liquid lipsticks can fell horribly heavy, but this does not. I apply thin layers and it works well for that, it is still opaque.
Eternity is.a nude light pinkish brown shade which is very wearable and natural on me.
Supreme is a dark, deep, rich purple berry, which whilst it is dark, it is really quite a cool shade an I loved wearing it.
These dry fairly quickly on the lips although you have time to spread it in – once it is dry, you can feel it but it’s not uncomfortable. I will say that like all liquid matte lipsticks, it is still dry (although ti doesn’t cling to the lips) so if you have overly dry lips like me, a lip primer underneath doesn’t hurt and it’s still long lasting even with it.
Here is the nude:
The berry – requires a bit more work to make it even but is expected with such a dark shade:
Really loved trying these matte lipsticks, they are in my current make up back so that is a seal of approval!
Mii also have a Glitter Glam liner which has a shimmery multi coloured liner on a clear base. It is therefore almost perfectly mistake proof – you can use it as a top coat or just a liner, it’s up to you, it isn’t so heavy that it looks OTT. I have tried it as both (you can also let it dry and repeat, building the layers).
The good thing about this is that once it is dry it doesn’t flake off and leave you with a glittering face. It’s a nice shimmer that is wearable as it only really shines when the light hits. Also, using a dark base or liner then adding this on top will make it stand out more. Just remember that it isn’t a super dramatic glitter line.
Here I am wearing it as a liner –
Hey no one needs an excuse to wear glitter!
