Bedhead hair products are so iconic – as soon as you see the brightly coloured bottles and names you just know what it is, and how many hair care brands can you say that about? I recall being a poor student and splashing out on one Tigi hair product (it was called ‘Creative Genius’, now discontinued!) after getting a hair cut and really using it sparingly so it would last.
These days I have a selection of Bed Head products and for someone who is absolutely horrendous at styling her hair I have a lot of products…Bed Head is still one of my favourite ranges.
I recently tested something a bit different. I tried the Tigi Calma Sutra Cleansing Conditioner (£17.95) and Foxy Curls Get Twisted Anti Frizz Finishing Spray (£13.50).
My hair is going through a dry and frizzy stage due to all the ridiculous processing I put it through – I will probably cut a load off soon and just start again! But until then…I need products that make me look semi ok. Products that tame and control that dry unhealthy frizz I get.
Calma Sutra is interesting because it is like that ‘Wen’ cleansing conditioner stuff – you apply it on wet hair, then rinse off. It does both cleansing and conditioning.
I expected more of a tingle for some reason when I applied it, but no matter. It was comfortable to use, it hasn’t made my scalp itchy. It does feel strange not lathering up a little (although I use SLS free shampoo anyway so I am used to minimal foam) almost like…is my hair even clean now!? Still with all the rough treatment I have given it, it needs some gentle TLC.
What this does absolutely do is leave the skin feeling really silky and smooth afterwards. You definitely don’t need any additional conditioner (on my hair anyway) but I rinse out carefully at the scalp because it is so thick it can make the roots look greasy extremely fast. I really like it though! I will continue to use this up.
The Get Twisted Spray – I have tons of sprays but I am not really in to hair spray. This anti frizz finishing spray is actually really useful or me because it prevents frizzes should you go in to a humid environment. I also found it calmed down any existing frizz quite well, and just generally made things more silky. I don’t think I have a frizz finishing spray in my collection so there is definitely a space for this product as a keep around and spray in before dashing out the door product.
All in all, great products for anyone suffering from frizz, or wants to tame curls. Nice job Tigi!
